In 1992, New Zealand witnessed the harshest put down line ever from a TV character.

In s01e01 of the freshly dropped kiwi TV drama "Shortland Street", visiting doctor Hone Ropata (Temuera Morrison aka Boba Fett's dad) wanted to perform a questionable emergency procedure on a pregnant accident victim. Head nurse Carrie Burton (Lisa Crittenden aka Gabrielle's mum from Xena) firmly disagreed with the decision and frustratedly retorted the line that would enshrine itself into New Zealand culture.

"You're not in Guatamala now, Dr Ropata"  - The legend Carrie Burton

The line has become a national catch phrase and has earned a place in our official register for national catch phrases.

It's also often used be travelling kiwis who will send their loved ones videos of themselves in a foreign destination while yelling out the line to the confusion of local passersby.
